From the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia’s Tumblr blog:

Chesapeake Riders Motorcycle Club made sure they did their part to support the Extreme Food and Fund Drive.  Their efforts to collect food came to almost 3,400 pounds—an amazing contribution, that is over 2,600 meals that will be provided to those who need it most in our community.  Thank you to the community for embracing this food drive and continuing to show your support.  Click the link to see the story on WVEC news! http://www.wvec.com/my-city/chesapeake/Bikers-among-those-pushing-to-make-drive-extreme-success-115073074.html

Throughout the month of October, TowneBank had a competition between their different departments. to see who could collect the most food.  This resulted in a donation of 5,315 pounds of food, that was delivered to the Foodbank on Nov. 1! They also provided 40 volunteers that day to help sort this wonderful donation.  Thank you TowneBank for your support!!!

The Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia shared this video on their blog. It’s a great news segment about the BackPack Program, which provides kids in need with meals to help get them through the weekend.

For families who rely on free- and reduced-price school meals to help make sure their children have enough to eat during the week, the BackPack Program is an important service when school is out.
